The DMCT Pathway prepares students to create, analyze, and lead in an ever-changing media landscape. Students learn to tell stories through images, motion, sound, and design while building the habits of professional artists and technologists.

What We Create in 9th Grade
Illustration & Character Design
Learn line, form, perspective, and stylization to design original characters and worlds.
Animation & Storyboarding
Explore 2D, stop motion, and digital animation while planning scenes through storyboards.
Filmmaking & Visual Effects
Use cameras, editing, and compositing to produce short films and visual experiments.
Graphic Design & Branding
Design logos, posters, and layouts that communicate clearly and look professional.
Music & Sound for Media
Create beats, sound effects, and scores that bring animation and film to life.
Writing for Screen & Web
Write scripts, scenes, and pitches for short films, web series, and digital stories.
About the Studio Instructor
Joseph Thompson – Digital Media & Creative Technology
Studio art teacher, curriculum designer, and media creator focused on illustration, character design, filmmaking, and music production. This pathway is built as a professional studio environment, not a traditional classroom.
